Design for Stained Glass windows
B. The Lord's Supper/Wheat and Grapes
A. Dry Land/Plants
The plants which God caused to be brought forth
from the dry land on the third day are taken up
and sanctified in the Supper which Christ gives.
They become the body and blood of Christ.
Also, the Lord's Supper is intimately tied to the
crucifixion of Christ as the Lamb of God, which in
this scheme is exactly opposite the depiction of
the Sacrament.
A. The Lamb of God
B. Animals and Man
Christ is true God and true Man, having both a
heavenly and an earthly nature. He is spoken of
symbolically in the Scriptures as the Lamb of God.
He is also spoken of in the Epistles of Paul as the
Second Adam. The creation of man was the first
start to the human race. The sacrifice offered by
Christ on the cross was the second start to the
human race, and Christ the second Adam.
It is also fitting that according to the Gospel of
John Christ was crucified on the sixth day of the
week, Friday (19:14).

B. Holy Baptism/Shell/Font
A. Divided Waters
Baptism is water and the Word. The division of
the waters here which allows life to come forth
prefigures the Red Sea, the division of which was
the salvation of God's people, and the
prefigurement of Holy Baptism which now saves
us.
V. (right side middle)
A. The Holy Spirit/Baptism in Jordan
B. The Birds and Fish
Christ's baptism in the Jordan, where the Holy
Spirit descended in the form of a dove (thus the
tie to the creation of the birds and the fish—the
Third Person of the Trinity has seen fit to appear
in this form at Christ's baptism) is directly
opposite the symbols of our own baptism-the
shell, the font, and the water.

B. Book of Scripture/Sword/Lamp
A. Creation of Light
It is by God's speaking that he brought light into
being. Scripture is the true speaking of God and is
lamp to our feet and a light to our path. It also
divides, as God spoke and divided the light from
the darkness. We are told in Hebrews 4:12 that
“the word of God is living and powerful, and
sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even
to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and
marrow.”
